Going from idea to how it works can be disorienting when you have to have faith in intermediate compilers and other bytecode manipulations. I like to know how stuff works. I think the best way to do that is to implement a scaled-down version of a grander idea.; e.g. many CS curricula require students to write a compiler.]]></description>
